The Adams design Concept 40 was the precursor to the Bluewater 400.This particular boat has been specifically set up for a couple with brilliant pullman berth in owners cabin. She has a generous and comfortable dinette and well laid out and practical galley and nav station.
Super rugged construction but looking in proportion and beautiful. Applauded for fantastic upwind and offwind motion and performance.
Her passage times are excellent so importantly you arrive into port not over tired and ready to explore.
A huge point of difference of this design to the average popout mass produced designs is her rigidity. Internally everything is glassed in so no creaking joints. Sails well in adverse weather. In the Indian Ocean she weathered 35Knot plus winds and 3 metre seas easily and safely.
Haven has circumnavigated 2 handed the globe via South Africa, Asia and South America. Her story and adventures quite extraordinary. Set up for a couple she is particularly easy to handle with her cutter rig. Electronic autopilot and Hydrovane steering ensure she can be sailed effortlessly at sea. A bowthruster is a bonus and rare on boats this size. So no marina berth is too tight.
Haven has been maintained and presents to a high standard. Everything important has backup or spares.
Outstanding feature is her super safe cockpit with all around screens and clears .Also she has full stainless steel rails around cockpit and princess seats at the back. Mast steps come in super handy when navigating reef areas or doing running mast repairs.
She presents very well. Her equipment has been constantly maintained and upgraded including her motor being upgraded to shaft driven Yanmar, and new rigging in 2013.
