This 2003 traditionally inspired and custom built, 22 foot Lapstrake Timber Yawl is now for sale.

KAMALA harkens back to a bygone era of timber classics but is a 21st century watercraft from stem to stern. She is beautifully balanced, incredibly safe and is a very pleasurable coastal cruiser.

She is a traditional yacht, without the maintenance headaches, which accompanies most traditional boats.

KAMALA is amazingly dry and buoyant at sea and sails easily in winds over 40 knots. Her amenities include a very large and comfortable double berth, space for cooker and lots of dry storage. All systems on board are elemental, based on traditional design with modern construction methods and materials like rope stropped blocks, timber bullseye sheet leads and shroud lanyards.

Some of her impressive build characteristics include half inch glued clinker ply hull, copper riveted, 3/8 dynel sheath deck, oregon/blackbutt keel, blue gum stem, spotted gum stern post, 1 1/2" ply transom, 2" x 3" sawn frames, oregon deck beams/carlins/sheer clamps, Kauri sole, bronze rudder hardware. KAMALA is exceedingly stable with1900kg displacement, 750kg lead external keel, centre board, standing lug rigged main and mizzen, flying jib and total sail area 262 sq ft.

Her ground tackle includes a 25lb Manson plough anchor with 30' x5/16" chain & 150' x 1/2 nylon rode. She is powered by a 4hp Yamaha outboard, bracket & 10 ltr fuel tank.
