Moody 47

One of the last Moody 47’s to be built is now exclusively for sale with DBY Boat Sales. This 2004 model has had only 2 owners. The first owner of 17 years sailed mainly local waters around the UK before the current owners, a family of 4, have sailed her across from Scotland over the last 2 years and have reached their journey’s end here in Australia. Fully imported and ready for more adventure, she sports many of the desirable cruising options such as large solar array on top of a very heavy-duty stainless-steel arch across the transom with davits for the tender, which have all been added by the current owner and are only 2 years old. Solid stainless-steel rails run all the way around the entire yacht for enhanced safety at sea and whilst moving around on deck. A great feature on any Bluewater yacht. The Moody 47 was built to an overall very high standard and impressive passage times can easily be achieved. A new generation hull with an extended waterline, and an all-furling cutter rig, with a self-tacking staysail, enabled these designs to be sailed on passages of thousands of miles with only two crew.

The 47 was made from 2001 through to 2004 with almost 100 boats made in total, double that of the Moody 54.
They came in 2 configurations but the centre cockpit with her spacious saloon and a well-planned galley plus colossal amounts of stowage and worktop space was always the preferred. Moody didn’t seek to maximise the number of berths on these boats. Instead, there’s a sumptuous owner’s cabin aft with private ensuite, a spacious guest cabin with en suite forward, both with island beds. There’s also a third cabin forward with twin berths, plus an additional sea berth in the passageway leading to the aft cabin. It’s a recipe for comfortable and spacious living.
