1984 Cheoy Lee 35 Cynthia of Palm Beach. What a rare gem of a boat.

Designed by Bob (er, Robert H.) Perry. Just Wikipedia him: “Among his designs are some of the most successful cruising yachts in modern cruising such as the Tayana 37 and Valiant 40. Through his career he has designed boats for many well recognized names in the yachting industry, such as Tayana, Cheoy Lee, Valiant, Baba, Ta Shing, Islander, Passport and Saga”.

A big, roomy 35 footer, perfect for day sailing, entertaining, weekends away: from her immaculate saloon cushions to her large comfy cockpit.

Quite literally hand crafted at the famous Cheoy Lee boatyard in Hong Kong in 1984 Cynthia has been fortunate enough to have been owned by the same loving family not once but twice, and only a move to Tasmania and ownership of a very sensible pilothouse motorsailer down there has now triggered “Cynthia’s” sale.

A MAJOR refit when she returned to her current owners in 2015-16, and constant upgrades ever since: 12 coats of recent varnish on her cabin sole will begin to give you the general idea. 

A near lightning strike a year ago necessitated a full replacement of all electrics and electronics, (think $20k plus), and think Brookes and Gatehouse Zeus 3, including a new autopilot. Nothing but the very best for Miss Cynthia.

A 2016 rig removal and really really full rig refurbishment.

A new start battery in 2016, a 3000 Watt inverter in 2017, and 400 Amp hours of house batteries in 2018.

A new electric toilet in 2019.

All new LED lighting and a new Fusion sound system in 2020

A new furler in 2021, together with a full service of the anchor winch and even a new television.
