Brady 48ft Catamaran.

Ayla, a much loved 2006 Peter Brady designed cruising catamaran is now on Pittwater, and is exclusively for sale through DBY Boat Sales.

Owned by a very experienced ex-18 foot skiff sailor, and his young family, and having undergone major works in readiness for long distance cruising she is reluctantly for sale now purely owing to ill health.

Built by Craig Saint on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from fiberglass with mini keels and wonderful transom extensions. She has a cedar core below the waterline, with a balsa core above, including her deck. She had previously cruised the Kimberly Coast and the Northern Territory, before heading South to Sydney with her current owners in 2017 following replacement of her standing rigging and fitting of a new suite of electronics in Brisbane, including autopilot, AIS, sonar and radar.

Since then she had two new Nanni 50hp diesels and gearboxes fitted here on Pittwater in February 2019.

Down below she boats an extraordinary galley with a new and literally unused Bosch oven, a 2 burner Miele cooktop, double sink, and 2 x 2 drawer Vitrifigo fridge /freezer units any of which can be used as a fridge or freezer. And she even boasts a Vitrifigo ice maker!

And of course to supply the ice maker, as well as the heads, galley and shower, she has a Stella 160 litres per hour watermaker, and an Onan generator, plus 240 volt shorepower, and an inverter. As well there are 3 x 120 Watt solar panels securely mounted on the hardtop.

Her saloon comfortably seats 10, there are 3 double cabins, 2 heads with electric toilets and holding tanks, a full size shower, as well as split cycle air conditioning/heating throughout, and even a television with masthead antenna.

On deck there are 2 electric anchor winches, anchors and chains, stainless steel davits, a Zodiac inflatable and brand new 5hp Mercury outboard. Her mast and boom are from Selden, furlers are Profurls, and her sail wardrobe consists of a full batten main in lazyjacks and a zippered boom bag, plus a genoa, and a screecher that flies from the bowsprit. Her winches are all stainless steel Andersen brand including one electric winch, and there is a stainless steel LPG barbecue in the cockpit.
