The Bavaria 36 was a huge success and popular design for a family or coastal cruiser. They are well renowned luxury yachts, German built and bulletproof.
This 1999 model is configured in the more popular 3 cabin layout with two symmetrical aft cabins and one V berth which are all privately enclosed from one another. This yacht will get snapped up quickly.
Ultra-modern electronics package including autopilot, B&G plotter, 200 watts of solar and 2022 battery package 4 house plus 1 engine crank, stainless steel davits on the transom to support the rigid inflatable dinghy whilst the 2020 model 9.8hp outboard rests on its own transom mount while underway.
The transom opens nicely, so you can easily walk from the cockpit to the swim step and enter the water where there is a hot shower waiting for you on return. The cockpit seats have cushions and are long enough to stretch out on. They are nipped away at the wheel to allow for a large diameter wheel which enhances a solid feel whilst helming. There is an anchor locker forward with a protected electric anchor windlass.
Maintenance has been kept to a high level and all seacocks were replaced 2020, all rigging was replaced 2020, antifouled mid-2022.
The Volvo D1-30 was installed new in 2014 and shows just under 2000 hours on the meter. The sail wardrobe is a battened main in boom bag and an overlapping genoa which were both refurbished in 2020 plus there is a spare mainsail. The rig is a fractional type with midboom sheeting and swept back spreaders.
J&J designed this Bavaria model to be beamy and full of volume. It's a handsome boat in profile, with generous freeboard and a strong feeling of safety when underway at sea. The stern is very broad, and the bow is puffed out and gives fullness to this massive interior volume. This is immediately noticeable and can be very helpful when moving around inside and working at benchtop counters.
