Bullets Multihull Regatta on Pittwater sponsored by David Bray Yachts

David Renouf, owner of David Bray Yachts and Multihulls, enjoyed a weekend on Pittwater as Race Officer and DBY sponsor rep for the Beware of the Bullets Regatta November 9-10.

Taking him back to his roots, David felt right at home heading up the race processes over the two days in the tricky conditions.  “I used to sail in this regatta every year as a youth when my father was on the committee”.

Fast forward 40 years, and the weekend was a great experience with his two daughters, Rachel and Sophie, and wife, Linda, all racing in preparation for the Hobie 16 World Championships on the South Coast in February 2014.

“It’s great to give back to the community and a bonus I spent the weekend with the family doing what we love.”

David Bray Yachts and Multihulls made a financial contribution in addition to donating the start boat.  The squalls, wind shifts and bullets were an interesting challenge for the race committee.  Seven races were sailed over the 2 days with lots of enthusiasm from the sailors considering the conditions.

PBSC, located at Sandy Point, saw a diverse collection of youths, female skipper, mixed crew, masters, grandmasters and world champions turn out for the regatta.  The fleet consisted of Hobie 16’s, A Class, Nacra, Viper, Tiger and Wildcat multihulls.  Photos and full story here…http://www.pittwateronlinenews.com/
