Taswell is renowned for high quality design,build and fitout,. Flying Cloud is a 1999 version centre cockpit cutter rigged cruiser.

Designed for safe and comfortable short-handed distance cruising. This super stiff and well constructed integrated design features a full keel. This and her extremely stiff construction improves her  directional stability ensuring she  delivers outstanding easy performance with strong daily runs.Flying Cloud covered the leg from Galapagos to Marquesis 3040 NM  in a very impressive 18 days.In persective the average production multihull and monohull of similar size take 21 days for the same leg..

She features a spacious aft owner stateroom with forward double guest berth.The pefect layout.

She has a U shaped galley which is set up for cooking in safety in all conditions. A 3 burner stove and oven, microwave and generous fridge, freezers complete this package.

The main saloon has a wonderful airy feel with ample light and vision through generous ports and windows. A low power draw air-conditioning system is integrated for comfort.

The timber work is first class throughout with interior construction adding to the already substantial strength and rigidity of the build.

One of her owners pet rigs is to pole out the genoa one side and the genniker on the other attached to the end of the boom with no main. When sailing she is rigged for easy short handing in all conditions with the bonus of cutter rig.Her autopilot is commercial grade so easily keeps her on  a comfortable track.

The batt slides on the mainsail and generous boombag and lazyjacks ensure easy raising,reefing and lowering of sails.

The navigation station has a Weems & Plath electronic barometer, Raymarine TriData, Northstar 941X GPS, Raymarine SL70 color chart plotter (at helm), a Raymarine RL70 radar, Mastervolt MICC electrical system readout, Blue Sky solar panel readout, an Aleutia Fanless Marine PC M1-160GB with 160GB memory and Intel 320SSD solid state drives and a 19 inch flat screen color monitor running MaxSea Navigation System with the weather routing module.

The monitor can be rotated so it can be read from the cockpit. Communications equipment includes a Standard Horizon GX2150 VHF with AIS output to the computer and VHF radio, an ICOM 802 SSB/Ham radio with Pactor PCT-IIUSB, a voltmeter for the 12v starter battery, and sub switch panels for the 12v systems.

In addition, an ICOM IC-M72 VHF handheld and an Iridium Extreme 9575 satphone with internal GPS linked to a Redpoint Optimizer for Bluetooth connectivity for iPhone/iPad/Computers.

Power is backed up by a well set up array of solar panels.
