This model is in my opinion the best Bavaria produced if wanting to do some serious offshore exploration. I have sold quite a few and they have consistently given fantastic fun and reliability to their owners.
Importantly resale has always been high with this particular model so buy, have fun then recover your investment when its time to move on.
Her standout layout features are her wonderful airy 3 cabin layout with Island owners cabin forward combined with twin doubles in the stern.
HECTORs galley, navigation station and 2 bathrooms are all a good size and well laid out to be used on anchor or on passage.
The cockpit is well enclosed with a binimi, dodger and cushions for all seats. There is a wide open transom step to make boarding from her RIB easy.
The 42 handles beautifully is well balanced and everything is designed to be worked single handed including all ropes back to cockpit, furling main and genoa, plus a robust autopilot.
I sold one of these to my daughter who sailed her 2 handed from Europe to Australia. They averaged a tidy 170-180 nm per day with top run of 206. Not bad.
HECTOR is a great package and is a solid no nonsense walk up start.
